Pricing Intelligence
Competitive pricing recommendations and automatic repricing are not available for operational use in the current Partner Portal.
You may encounter older Pricing links or a pricing-position field. Do not use those outputs to change a live price unless Partner Portal marks the feature available for your account and identifies the source, product match, observation time, and cost basis. A populated card is not, by itself, proof of current competitor data.
What you can do now
- Set and edit your own listing price in Listings.
- Check the published fee schedule and your actual order/financial records.
- Use known supplier or landed costs from your own records when deciding margin.
- Preserve a manual record of who approved a price change and why.
Do not infer cost from a percentage of selling price, treat a similar product name as an exact match, or describe a generated recommendation as real-time market evidence.
Before relying on pricing intelligence
Pricing intelligence is suitable for seller decisions only when all of the following are visible and proven:
- Source and time — where the competitor observation came from and when it was collected.
- Product match — a GTIN or other explicit like-for-like match; ambiguous products are excluded rather than guessed.
- Real cost — your actual seller or supplier-backed cost is used for a margin floor; a missing cost stays missing.
- Explanation — you can inspect the observation, proposed price, constraints, and reason before acting.
- Controlled change — you can preview and approve the change, enforce a floor, review history, and recover the prior price before automation is enabled.
Until that contract is met, there is no supported promise of nightly competitor tracking, AI recommendations, price alerts, price locks, rule execution, or repricing history.
Practical manual review
For a live listing, base a price decision on evidence you control:
- current acquisition or supplier cost;
- marketplace fees and payment processing;
- shipping and fulfilment cost;
- returns, refunds, and chargeback exposure;
- GST treatment applicable to your business;
- a directly observed like-for-like market offer, including delivery and product condition.
Record unknown components rather than converting them to zero. A recommendation cannot protect margin if its cost basis is incomplete.
See Feature Availability for the current rollout state and Payment Processing for marketplace fee treatment.
