Inventory Management

Keep stock honest and choose the right place to change it.

Stock on seller-fulfilled listings can also be set when you create or edit a listing in Listings. Keep quantities as whole numbers at or above zero, and aligned with stock you can actually fulfil.

Day-to-day stock in Products

For seller-fulfilled listings, Listings lets you:

  • see the recorded stock quantity;
  • filter for Out of stock and Low stock listings;
  • set stock when creating or editing a product; and
  • manage variant quantities where variants are supported.

An approved listing with no stock is not ready to sell.

Spreadsheet import (Bulk Operations)

Use Inventory when you prefer a spreadsheet:

  1. Open Inventory and choose Bulk Operations, or open Import spreadsheet directly.
  2. Read Import status for recent product imports and image review notes.
  3. Use Import for product or inventory CSV files (templates are available on that page).
  4. Fix any row errors shown for a run, then submit drafts for marketplace review when prompted.

You work while signed into Partner Portal. Unattended system connections are not part of this self-service spreadsheet path; see Developers for the technical integration boundary.

Product images can be bulk-uploaded as a separate spreadsheet after product SKUs exist (see Product images under Import status).

Who owns the stock value?

Fulfilment sourceCurrent behaviour
Seller fulfilledYou maintain the seller stock quantity in Listings or through an approved product/inventory feed.
Supplier fulfilledSupplier allocation is authoritative. Listings shows supplier-managed availability and disables seller stock editing.
Platform fulfilledPlatform-managed availability is displayed; seller stock editing is unavailable.
Unknown sourceStock editing stays disabled until the fulfilment source is resolved.

Do not overwrite supplier-managed availability with a copied quantity. Resolve a supplier stock problem through the connected supplier workflow.

System integrations

If an approved system integration manages inventory feeds, use the Developers section for setup and reconciliation. Self-service long-lived machine credentials in Account are not offered yet.

What is not currently promised

The current seller workflow does not provide a supported:

  • multi-location Inventory dashboard as a complete warehouse system;
  • live stock-alert notifications;
  • 30/60/90-day demand forecast (Inventory Forecasting remains unavailable);
  • automatic reorder recommendation; or
  • fixed dashboard refresh interval.

Use your own inventory or accounting system for location-level stock and forecasting until Partner Portal exposes a source-backed workflow for your account.

Practical checks

  1. Clear out-of-stock and low-stock actions in Listings.
  2. Confirm the fulfilment badge before changing a quantity.
  3. After a spreadsheet import, reconcile row results in Import status instead of assuming the whole file applied cleanly.
  4. Check at least one approved, active listing has stock and shipping configured before treating the store as Ready to sell.
